One day soon our Lord will come
And I pray He does not see
A world of scared, scattered sheep
Like you, and just like me.
One day soon our Lord will come
And I pray He does not hear
A world of fractured, frightened people
Crying out in fear.
One day soon our Lord will come
And I pray He does not find
A world of lonely, lifeless souls
Who've all but lost their mind.
One day soon our Lord will come
And I pray that it be so
With four kind words in gentle voice
He'll say “It's time to go.”
