Position: Contract Administrative Assistant (Virtual)

Company: Restorative Action Alliance, Inc.

Location: Remote (based in New York or Connecticut)

Duration: 6 Months (renewable) - Initially 10 hours per week 

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide virtual administrative support to the Restorative Action Alliance executive team.
  2. Manage and organize digital documents, and a small constituent database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  3. Assist in coordinating virtual meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and taking minutes.
  4. Handle email correspondence and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Conduct research and compile information as needed for various projects.
  6. Collaborate with volunteers, board members, and activists to streamline administrative processes for advocacy and education.
  7. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  8. Assist the executive team in preparing reports and presentations for internal and external use.
  9. Perform other administrative tasks as required to contribute to the overall efficiency of RAA operations.

Qualifications:

  1. Experience as an administrative assistant or in a similar role.
  2. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Proficient in using virtual collaboration tools Zoom, Google, and Microsoft Office Suite. Nationbuilder preferred but not required. 
  5. Ability to work independently and remotely, demonstrating self-motivation and reliability.
  6. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in tasks.
  7. Understanding of criminal legal system and conviction registries is a plus (lived experience is considered expertise)
  8. Knowledge of restorative practices or related fields is advantageous.
  9. Willingness, initiative, and aptitude to learn new software or skills.
